5 Tips to Make Your Spring Guest Feel Welcome

in fay home on 30/04/18

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Charmin. The opinions and text are all mine.

Hi guys! Welcome to my home!! Today’s post isn’t a home tour but it does take you inside a bit so you can see some of the things I like to prepare before we have company come in town! We love having guests, but I am not going to lie – I always worry about not having enough of everything! Food, wine, and even toilet paper! That being said – I have come up with a few things I do everytime we have company to make sure they feel comfortable from the moment the pull in our driveway!

First impressions are so important because well, you only get one first impression! I like to make sure our front porch is as inviting as possible. Getting new door mats, or washing the ones you have! Hanging a new wreath on the front door or planting new flowers are all ways you can make sure your front porch is guest ready.  I kind of laughed when I was taking the picture of me working on the flowers, because I actually am pretty sure I have a black thumb! My mom is helping me learn to garden and plant things correctly as well as maintain them so they actually stay alive!

Offer them a drink as soon as they enter the door. No one likes to awkwardly be standing there trying to talk and catch up when all they can think about is how thirsty they are. Whether it’s wine or a glass of water, get them something to drink! I also like to have things out and opened already so no one feels guilty asking to open a bottle!

Make sure they are comfortable! Literally! Okay, so this is silly – but it happened to me once at someone’s house and I never want them to go through it. Have you ever been to someone’s house and you sit down to go to the bathroom and realize they are out of toilet paper? So you start quietly opening cabinets and drawers that you can reach from the toilet to try to find some and find out they are clear out! Oh, fantastic! It should be as embarrassing for them as it is for you as your yelling their name while your sitting there. Yikes. Haha. So not only do I like to have PLENTY of toilet paper, I actually leave it out in our guest bathroom – where it is pretty much the first thing you see when you walk in the door.

Make your guest feel welcome immediately!

Okay, so not only should you have plenty of toilet paper for your guest but you also gotta get them the good stuff. In our house – we always use the good stuff. To me, it is worth every penny more than the rough store brand tissue paper they for some reason still sale. We have used Charmin for years. I’ve been alternating between Amazon’s Charmin Ultra Soft Clean Touch and the Charmin Ultra Strong Cushiony Touch, but no matter what we ALWAYS use Charmin. To be honest – when Charmin asked me if I would be interested in sharing this post with you guys I said – SURE I actually already exclusively have Charmin in my home! Now, you can get Charmin on Amazon for $3 off with coupon code 3MEGACHARMIN, in addition to $2 off by snipping the coupon offered at checkout for a total savings of $5 off.

Make your guest feel welcome immediately!

Avoid the awkward knock on your bedroom door at 11pm because your guest forgot a toothbrush or toothpaste. I like to always make guest feel as if they are at a hotel, but that much better. I keep product samples and brand new products such as toothpaste, deodorant, toothbrush, etc. The whole basket costs me under $20 to fill and to be honest, I rarely have to refill it. But it is super considerate for you to have out for your guests, just incase!

Make your guest feel welcome immediately!
