Lipstick Heels and a Baby

Colored Foods?!?

in Style on 16/02/13

Hey ya’ll!!! I have some health facts for you this weekend!!! I have a few tutorials and giveaways coming in the next two weeks! First one will be posted Monday!!

So, the average American eats less than the recommended serving of fruits and veggies a day. And on top of that, I am sure they are not getting in as many different colors of veggies to get different vitamins and nutrients! Here is a calculator that takes your age, sex, and amount you work out to tell you how much you should be eating. This is according to the center of disease control and prevention. I really feel like what it said for me still isn’t enough. It said I should be eating 2 cups of fruit and 2.5 cups of veggies. Although, I try to eat more than that. No matter what diet you are on or eating lifestyle you take up..I feel like you should be able to eat as many fruits and veggies as your little heart desires!

Red

Improve circulation, increase blood oxygen levels, and keep your heart healthy. Support health of prostate and your boob tissue 🙂 Contain vitamin C, folate, and flavonoids..what the heck do flavonoids do? Contain antioxidant properties and and reduce inflammation.

Orange

Beta carotene is the cause of the color of these beauties, which is a powerful antioxidant. They contain Vitamin A and C and some even contain Omega-3s. Helps to protect your eyes from cellular damage from reading all these blogs ;). Also helps strengthen your lungs and protect you from toxins.

Yellow

Filled with Vitamin C. These little sunshines stimulate your nervous system, which is a natural energy boost and keeping your digestive system on track.

Green

Cholorphil gives these leafy greens their color are great for your skin and body. They naturally help cleanse your liver and system, and induce enzymes that will give your skin a glow. These contain folic acid, vitamin k, and potassium. Eat up mama’s-to-be.

Blue/Purple

Prevent clot formation..which helps with heart disease and blood pressure. Lower risk of cancer. Blueberries have the highest amount of antioxidants than any other food…pop a few of those berries in your mouth every day!
