Lipstick Heels and a Baby

Commonly Asked Questions

in Beauty on 30/10/17

What is your color formula?

Most of you know that I used to be a hairstylist, so therefore I have actually been coloring my own hair for the past 5-6 years. Actually, I have been cutting it myself too aside from 2-3 haircuts. That being said – I know exactly what is on my hair. So before I started with the ombre this was my hair color::

I was highlighting and retouching it myself and It just became way too much maintenance to keep up so I decide to go more natural. So that being said my “retouch” or darker color is 6N in Shades EQ by Redken. This is a glaze that lasts about 6 weeks or so – although I have been putting it on my hair for a good 2 years now so I am pretty sure it is permanent at this point. I don’t really have to do my retouch anymore but that is what I was putting on it forever to get the roots darker so my own natural roots could grow out. So my natural is pretty much a 6N (maybe a little bit ashier but not much). For my blonde pieces and my ends I use blondor (your stylist will know exactly what this is, big blue tub) and 20 volume. I pull pretty light so I don’t really need to use a toner but if your hair is naturally darker than mine your stylist may need to use one!

What do you use for your spray tans?

For the past 4 months I have only been sprayed by Shelby Herron Beauty. She seriously is the best. She comes to your house, sets up shop, sprays you and is out in 15 minutes and you are left with a flawless tan! I get the rapid tan! I am not sure of what product she uses but if you email or call her I am sure she can tell you!

What colors do you use in the Tarte Palette?

I use the toasted palette because I am loving the orange and warm tones for fall! I try to mix up which colors I use but typically I put Sunrise all over my lid up to my eyebrow. Then apply Warmth all over my lid and Cashmere on my lid blending it in the inner corner. I then use Cozy or Flame in my crease and then blend everything together!

What hair products do you use? Especially dry shampoos?

I cycle through so many dry shampoos and products! I am what they call a product junkie so therefore I am going to list the products I am currently using!

Volume Powder | Dry Shampoo | Texture Spray | Hair Spray | Shampoo and Conditioner |

What are your eating habits?

My eating habits are slightly embarrassing because I am a addicted to chocolate and baked goods. I can have candy or even ice cream out in front of me all day and not touch it but when it comes to warm cookies, cake, and anything chocolate. I literally can’t stop eating. That being said I also LOVE veggies. I am pretty sure I eat veggies with every single meal. I crave greens constantly. Spinach, kale, broccoli, and even carrots, cooked or dipped in ranch of course. So I guess the only advice I have is everything is balanced. I eat the same amount of veggies as I do sweets and carbs.

What is your skin care routine?

This, like my hair, changes constantly but I do have a few things that are my favorites that I have used for years!!

Face brush | Face razor for exfoliation | Exfoliate | Face Wash | Eye Cream | Moisturizer |

Do you sleep with your hair up or down?

Down! I literally wake up with headaches or a sore scalp if I sleep with my hair up! So I usually wake up with pretty messy hair but honestly I just can’t sleep with it pulled up. I do sleep on this pillowcase tho which helps with the bed head a little.

What is your everyday makeup routine?

I again, annoying I know, switch my my makeup a lot. I do however typically stick to the same basics as far as foundation, eyeliner and mascara. You can see lots of makeup posts here and here!

What curling iron do you use?

I have tried and tried to love curling wands and I just don’t. I probably have 6 different ones and I literally feel like its too much work and takes way too long. A mom does not have time for that!!! So I like curling iron with a clip and I use this one most often (it’s SUPER affordable too!) and this one I also LOVE!

What was the heated brush you use?

I got this in NYFW and it is seriously amazing for refreshing your hair or smoothing it out before styling! Especially if you have natural curl to your hair!

Did you loose your hair after any of your babies?

Yes! And I know from doing hair this is SUPER normal! If you are breastfeeding it is usually delayed until after you are done breastfeeding. So I always find my hair gets a little thicker while I am pregnant and then thins out after I stop breast feeding and becomes normal again within the next 6 months or so! This is very typical! No need to worry – my suggestion is to keep taking your prenatal vitamins!

What is Charli’s bath you use in the sink?

We loooooove this thing! It also lets all the dirty water flow out constantly and has a temperature monitor!

Let me know if you guys liked this post and if you would like me to do these more often!

XO
