Detoxing Foods

in Style on 13/02/13

When I think detox..I think skinny, healthy, and sexy!!!…

Now remember..I am not a nutritionist, these are just tips and useful info I have heard and read over the past few years, and a few guidelines I go by! Hopefully it helps you to feel and look your best!

Garlic: Stimulates the liver into producing detoxification enzymes that help filter toxic residues from the foods you eat. You can throw garlic in almost anything..you should always have some on hand!

Cucumber:  95% water, help flush out toxins and alkalize the body. Make mini cucumber sandwiches!

Cauliflower: Antioxidant rich. Natural detoxification and reduces inflammation.

Lemons and Limes: Citrus fruit aids in flushing out toxins and jump-starting the digestive tract. Lemons support the liver in detoxing. The citric acid on both of these are excellent fat burners!! Ask for extra with your water at restaurants!!!!!

Broccoli: Neutralizes and eliminates toxins. Raw is better!

Turnip Greens: A potent detoxifier, helps prevent many types of cancer and is a great for reducing inflammation.

Artichokes: Healthy Liver and gallbladder! Fiber-rich..(enough said) Better Digestion. Helps get rid of hangovers!

Lentils: Fiber– rich..again!. Helps lower cholesterol, balances blood sugar and even increases your energy. Through some of these in your brown rice!

Nuts and Seeds: Aid the liver and prevent cholesterol build up in the blood and arteries. Flax seed, pumpkin seeds, almonds, walnuts, hemp seeds, sesame seeds, chia seeds, sunflower seeds. Great snack option or to throw on a salad!

Grapefruit: Fiber-rich..and again!..Lower cholesterol, prevents kidney stones and aids the digestive system. Eat one before dinner each night!

Watercress: Keeps free radicals away. Helps in cleansing the liver and a natural diuretic. Add this to your salads!
