Lipstick Heels and a Baby

Honey Cocoa Roasted Almonds

in Style on 24/01/13

If you are like me you need an easy, healthy, go-to for when your chocolate craving hits.  I got this recipe from Tone it Up girls, found here and did a few little tweaks from what I found worked best!…Unfortunately for me, I get about 2 a day..one around 4pm and one around 8 or 9 pm…it never fails.
Well, these honey, cocoa, (cinnamon if you please) roasted almonds are a great chocolate fix. They are healthy and super filling!!!!
What you need:
2 cups of honey
1 pinch of salt
2 cups of almonds
1 1/2 tablespoons of organic sugar substitute or stevia
and 1 1/2 tablespoons of cocoa
Pour your two cups of honey and pinch of salt into a sauce pan until its super thin.
Put in your two cups of almonds. stir until the honey just starts to boil and the almonds are coated. then take it off the heat immediately. If you let it sit in the boiling honey they will taste burnt.
Place onto a baking dish/pan. If you use a pan cover it with parchment paper…other wise it will stick really bad.
Bake at 350 for 10 min stirring around about every 3 minutes.
While these are baking and you are keeping track of your 3 minutes mix up your cocoa, sugar/stevia, and cinnamon if you want it and put in a bowl that has a lid to go with it.. Tupperware is what I used.
Once almonds are done baking let them cool for about 3 minutes..any more than that they will start sticking to the paper really bad..so you don’t want them to cool all the way.
Put almonds in mixture you previously mixed up, place lid on and shake!
They will be coated in the powder and slightly warm and are FREAKING GOOD!!!!
Now, you don’t have to feel guilty about giving into your chocolate craving!
