Lipstick Heels and a Baby

Lunch with a Dear Friend

in Style on 22/12/12

Today I had lunch with a very good friend of mine, one of my best girlfriends in fact.  We go to lunch regularly lately since I am in town for a few months until Ryan gets home from Afghanistan. We talked about a lot of things during our 2 1/2 hour lunch this time. (Not all of our lunches are this long.) Weddings, work, parties, Christmas plans, shopping, gifts, and our men…one of my favorite topics, talking about my husband. Normally, my conversations about my husband are usually, “I miss him”,  “I’m so attracted to my husband”, or “I want us to go here or there, or do this or that”.

Today though, we talked about respecting them and building them up.  How in a marriage, and or relationship, you should never be put them down, EVER. You should do special things to make them happy and feel special. Let them know that you realize you are so lucky to have been blessed with them. So that has had me thinking all day on how I can be a better wife.

My husband has an act for surprising me with things I want, but I didn’t know he knew that I wanted them. Learning to play the guitar and learning our wedding song and brown eyed girl for me. (I have brown eyes.) When I would get home from work, candles were lit and our first dance song was playing and he never lets me forget how beautiful he thinks I am. He is quite the romantic…so it had me thinking do I do these things for him? Sometimes, yes…as much as I should? No. I do build him up and thank him for loving me on a regular basis. Thank him for supporting our family and being a great father and husband. Recognize his sacrifice for this country and our freedom Compliment him and never let his romantic gestures go un-noticed…but I could do more…way more..so here is to thinking..you can always do more..way more..do something for your significant other today! They chose you, they deserve it.
