Lipstick Heels and a Baby

My Diet Lifestyle

in Style on 10/01/13

I had a few people ask me what I have been doing lately as far as eating to get all of my baby weight off, plus some…here are the guidelines I go by lately..

  • Minimal sugar, I mean minimal, like one piece of candy or one cookie a day, if  that! Dark chocolate is best!
  • No soda or flavored drinks. I just drink water, tea. coffee, and light soy milk or unsweetened almond milk.
  • No white bread or white carbs.
  • No fried foods. None!
  • No eating 2 hours before bed, I drink a sleepy time tea!

Sweet tea is my only exception..I cut out all juices and soda…a sweet tea here and there won’t hurt, right?? 😉

For Breakfast I usually  (everyday except Sundays and if I am out of town) drink .
Ingredients
2 cups spinach
1/2 cucumber
1/4 head of celery

1/2 bunch parsley
1 bunch mint
3 carrots
2 apples
1/4 orange
1/4 lime
1/4 lemon
1/4 pineapple
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a blender. This makes approximately 28-30 ounces, or 3-4 servings.

Now this is a HUGE commitment..and we do not always put every singly ingredient in exactly how he says, but in general is a whole lot of fruits and veggies thrown in a blender and we put a scoop of protein in there to make it stick longer! We also sub the spinach with kale a lot! Right now, my parents make it for the whole family every morning, when Ryan is home and we move back to Florida, I will have to get this dedication for myself, since I know Ryan wont drink it!!! We make it fresh daily too, because the fruit and veggies start loosing their nutrients the second you blend and juice them!!!!

Then snack is my protein shake, from a previous blog.

Lunch is a protein and a veggie, such as chicken and salsa, or my tuna recipe I posted a few days ago!

Afternoon snack, if I need one, I dont always eat a afternoon snack, because of time, or I am not hungry, is usually:
  • Greek yogurt with chia seeds
  • Whole grain chips with avocado and a bit of garlic salt
  • Raw vegetables
  • Peanut butter
  • Fiber bar
  • Whole grain chips and salsa
  • Sliced turkey rolled in lettuce with a drizzle of balsamic vinaigrette
  • Cheese stick..i love cheese!

Then dinner is a protein, veggie, and carb, never a white carb tho!

Let me know if you have any questions!!!!!

Stay healthy and happy!
xo

Sweet tea is still tea and tea is healthy! That’s my thought on that, and I’m sticking to it. Haha! Jokes aside, thank you for sharing the juice recipe and some meal ideas. I’ve seen some of your recent pictures and your diet seems to be paying off nicely. Great job!

    Hi Jessica,
Now that you are in Florida, are you making your shake in less portions? I tried making it this morning. I followed your recipe. It is way too much for just me. If you are, could you share your portions of ingredients? Thanks so much!

Hey! I actually only drink about half of it! I split the other half with the family!!! if you are substituting meals with it i would probably drink it all because I would not be satisfied with a smaller amount!

Do you add ice or silk or anything so its not so thick?
