Lipstick Heels and a Baby

in Style on 18/01/13

This may not be a topic that is important to everyone but as a military family member and spouse,  it is very important to me! I am far from an expert on this topic, but feel free to ask any questions and if I do not know the answer, I will ask Emily, who most likely will!

Improve Your Life as a Veteran

So many veterans simply do
not take good care of themselves and wind up getting sick. It can be easy to
get out of the military and become sedentary simply because of all of the
different medical ailments that may be a major issue for you. You might be
fighting mesothelioma
or you could have a mental disorder such as PTSD. Whatever you’re dealing with,
it is so important for you to understand that there is help out there for you
and there are dozens of things you can also do for yourself that will improve
your quality of life and overall mood.

One way to improve your
health is to change the way that you eat. In this busy world where fast food is
easier to get than nutritious meals, it can be easy to give up on a healthy
diet and binge on junk foods. The best thing for you to do is to change the way
that you eat so that you’re eating
more things that are nutritious
and are actually doing something for your
body. You don’t have to live on salads and fruits all day, but small changes
can make a huge difference for you if you keep up with them.

Exercise
is yet another thing that all veterans should be getting on a daily basis. You
might find that joining a local gym is one of the best things you can do or you
might find that taking a walk around your block is beneficial to your mood and
health. Many people underestimate how good they feel after a workout. If you’re
in a bad mood or are dealing with mental health symptoms associated with a
condition you have, just getting out into the open air will do you a world of
good. Exercise helps to get your mind off of certain things and puts things in
a more positive light.

Another thing all veterans
should be doing is to visit
their doctor
a few times a year. Not only will your doctor be able to keep
a close eye on your health, but they will also be able to prescribe important
medications to you that you need in order to stay healthy. As you can easily
tell, there are quite a number of things you can do to improve the quality of
your life and your mood so that you are a healthier individual.
